Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, or who has been sick in the night, stays home until the next morning. We call a parent when a child is unwell at school, and the office keeps a list of who may collect them.
Drop-off and pickup
School ends at 3:00 p.m. A teacher walks each child to the pickup line, and only the adults on the family's pickup list may collect a child. Anyone new shows ID at the office first.
Closures for weather and holidays
The school follows a calendar the office sends in the summer, with holidays and a week off in the fall, winter and spring. On a day with smoke or extreme heat, the office writes to families before 7:00 a.m.
Leaving the program
We ask for sixty days' written notice before a child leaves. The office goes through the details with you in person.
Screens and phones
Children do not use phones or tablets during the school day. A child who brings a phone gives it to the office in the morning and picks it up at the end of the day.
What to wear and bring
There is no uniform. Children wear clothes they can move in, with shoes that stay on for the yard, and bring a sweater for the classroom.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Children bring lunch and a snack. Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll. Each teacher keeps the plan for the children in the room.
Questions about a policy?
The office is glad to talk it through.
